Jon Rosenberg has been practising as an estate agent on the West Rand since 1982. He started his real estate career with Property People, and worked there as an agent for four years before the company owners returned to the U.K. He then joined Bertels & Durio who were both previously with Property People, and left in 1989 to form his own company, Jon Rosenberg Estates.
He completed the CIEA exam in 1982, and holds the Certificate Of The Residential Property Specialist (CRS) since 1988. He has completed numerous other property related courses in management, sales, and marketing, and has won many awards over the years.
Jon Rosenberg Estates joined the Homenet Real Estate Group (now Harcourts) in 1993, and resigned from them in 2010 to once again trade independently.
Jon and his Company have concentrated on the sale and rental of residential properties, although he has initiated and launched a number of new Cluster / Townhouse developments, including the large Featherbrooke Estate.
A Social Responsibility has always been high on the agenda for Jon Rosenberg, and he has been involved in many spheres within the local community.
He has served on both the P.T.A and Governing Body of Panorama Primary School from 1985 to 2000 in various capacities, as well as being Chairman of both.
Jon was a founder member of the Panorama Football Club and served on the committee for nine years from Treasurer to President.
Together with two other Homenet offices on the West Rand, Jon has collected over R500,000-00 through various fund raising events for the Gateway School for mentally handicapped children.
Jon was a member of the Development Council of Roodepoort Child & Family Welfare for four years.
Jon served five terms as a Director of the Property Association, a weekly newspaper for the property industry in Johannesburg.
In 2000 Jon was appointed to the Board of the Western Homefinder, a weekly property publication on the West Rand, and he still serves on that Board.
Jon served nine years as a Ward Committee member for Ward 89, a Municipal Ward within the Roodepoort area. In 2012 he was again elected as a Ward Committee member for Ward 89, and continued to serve on the committee until 2016.
Jon has served on the Panorama Residents Association since it's inception, and from 2012 to date is the Chairman.
The Institute Of Estate Agents Of South Africa approached Jon in 2009 to launch a new branch for the West Rand, and Jon served as it's Chairman from inception to March 2012.
A new body in the real estate industry was launched in 2011, REBOSA (Real Estate Business Owners of South Africa), and Jon served on the Gauteng Steering Committee. Jon has served on the Honeydew SAPS Sector 2 Committee since 2012.
In November 2014 Jon was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Honeydew SAPS Community Police Forum.
My dedication and commitment to the Real Estate Industry as a full-time professional started in 1992 after successfully completing the Estate Agency Affairs Board Exam.
Being one of the first group of candidates to complete the course and obtain the F.E.T.C. (Real Estate Certificate NQF4) in 2008, gave me a competitive advantage in the Real Estate Market. I am a member of the Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa.
In 1993 I joined the Homenet Real Estate Group (now Harcourts). In 2010 I went independent with Jon Rosenberg Estates. Numerous achievement awards were received throughout these years. In 1975 I obtained my degree in Pre-Primary and Primary Education at the University of Pretoria. I worked as a pre-primary school teacher from 1976 to 1991.
I have a passion for and a service commitment to the community, hence my involvement in various community driven projects, churches, schools and welfare organisations.
